BEACON, N.Y. — Authorities say a 38-year-old Hudson Valley woman has been stuck and killed by a southbound Metro-North train.
Officials with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority say the woman from Beacon was struck by a Manhattan-bound train shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday in her hometown, 60 miles north of New York City.
MTA officials say they're investigating her death as a possible suicide.
The woman's name wasn't released.
Trains were shut down for about 40 minutes in both directions following the incident.
