Nicole Scherzinger, Cee Lo Green and Leona Lewis performed in front of the Queen (as well as many of her royal subjects) at the annual Royal Variety Performance gala, which was filmed earlier this month. Instead of performing one of her own singles (her album did get officially released in the UK, after all), Nicole sang the title track from Broadway musical The Phantom Of The Opera in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary. Cee Lo got some major stage time busting out his new single “Anyway”, in addition to covering Queen’s “Somebody To Love” with Leona Lewis. Watch below.
Initially, the X Factor judge performing this song might appear odd, but she really sounded brilliant. (Of course, we’re not surprised just how awesome she can be singing showtunes.) Is she positive she doesn’t want to forego the pop star thing in favor of being a Broadway baby?
