A day after CEO Steve Jobs announced Apple's new iCloud service, he unexpectedly visited his pals on the Cupertino City Council to unveil his company's latest project: a glass-enclosed, circular new four-story home for 12,000 workers on land formerly occupied by Palo Alto tech pioneer Hewlett-Packard (HPQ).

According to a report by Matthew Wilson of our sibling publication the Cupertino Courier, Jobs told the council Tuesday night that "Apple is growing like a weed" and needs to expand from its headquarters on Infinite Loop.
