On Sunday, April 14, the movie and music worlds collided at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. But who took home the biggest award of the night, Best Movie of the Year?
Conan O’Brien Leads The MTV Movie Awards
Now that Conan is hosting the MTV Movie Awards, we know we’re in for a real comedic treat!
From the start Conan keeps things hilarious, especially during his history-making opening segment. Stars like Jason Bateman, Ashton Kutcher, Anna Faris, and more cameo for the segment, but it’s Taylor Swift who steals the show. Do you think Conan ever got that date with her?
During his opening monologue, Conan calls out Grumpy Cat in the front row, and later performs a super funny song. There’s even a cameo appearance by Workaholics star, Adam Devine. Does this mean he’s going to be singing again in Pitch Perfect 2? One can only hope!
Jared Leto wins the first award of the night, and gives an inspiring speech about raising AIDS awareness and living the dream. Jonah Hill
wins the second award, and his excitement over winning an MTV award
after watching at home with his friends for so long is endearing.
We will never forget Chris Pratt‘s hilariously awkward presentation after he forgot to take a microphone out on stage with him. Oops!
Conan warns nominees that if they take too long while giving a
speech, he’s going to have a “dick pic” sent to the teleprompter. Yikes!
Now that he’s won an award, Jared Leto is ready to head back to Coachella — but sadly, none of the celebs he asks (Rihanna, Shailene Woodley, and Channing Tatum) take him up on his offer. We’ll go with you, Jared!
Mila Kunis Is Pregnant & Zac Efron Gets His Shirt Ripped Off
A very pregnant Mila Kunis wins the award for Best Villain, and despite her best efforts, she can not hide that growing belly behind her golden popcorn!
Conan introduced Jessica Alba and Rita Ora while wearing a fake ab-suit, and Rita ripped off Zac Efron‘s shirt while he accepted the award for Best Shirtless Performance. It. Was. Ab-mazing.
Later, pregnant Mila Kunis returned to present Channing Tatum with
the well-deserved Trailblazer Award. He has come such a long way from Step Up!
Orlando Bloom stopped by to introduce a MONSTER performance by Eminem and Rihanna.
Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, and Dave Franco – stars of the upcoming Neighbors –
all hit the stage to present the Best Kiss award. They decided that
they would honor three lucky audience members with a kiss. Zac and Dave
each had slammin’ hotties pull golden tickets with their names on from
under their seats, and Seth had… his mom. Yes, that’s right. Seth’s
“mom” (we’re hoping it’s not really his mom) came up onto the
stage and, instead of a peck on the cheek, the two made out. Not only
that, but Dave said it made him “hard!” Are they allowed to say that on
television?!?!
A league of lovely ladies, including Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nicki Minaj, and Kate Upton gave a sexy presentation for Best Male Performance, which went to Josh Hutcherson who was displaying some major Peeta hair!
Jordana Brewster paid tribute to the late, great Paul Walker. It was a touching speech that left our hearts aching over his loss once again.
The Biggest Awards Of The Night Go To…
The Entourage cast reunited to honor their producer and show creator, Mark Wahlberg. Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, and Jerry Ferrara introduced a montage of Mark’s films that ranged from his first ever role in Fear, to his hilarious turn in Ted. Mark’s speech is awesome to hear, especially the heartwarming story about how he saw his first movie with his father.
Orlando Bloom returned to win the award for Best Fight, and made sure to mention that he was presented the award by Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Taylor-Johnson!
Handsome funny-man Miles Teller joined Iggy Azalea to introduce an incredible performance by Ellie Goulding and Zedd.
Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at the end of the show, and he
arrived by coming up out of the ground underneath a gigantic golden
popcorn statue. He presented the final award of the evening for Best
Movie of the Year, and to no one’s surprise it went to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!
Of course, as Sam Claflin and Josh Hutcherson accepted the award, they make sure to honor the late Philip Seymour Hoffman who played Plutarch Heavensbee in the films.
