Mega Millions Winning Numbers: NOT Yours!

Tuesday's multi-state Mega Millions lottery drawing saw the following winning numbers unveiled: 9-19-34-44-51 and 24 for the Mega number!!!!!!
Alas, nobody won across 40+ states.

The jackpot has now been raised to a record $476 million for the next drawing, to be held Friday. The previous record for largest jackpot was $390M in 2007.

The odds of winning are roughly 1 in 176 million, but somehow we're guessing that isn't about to stop an absurd number of people from giving it a shot.
Apple stock is paying dividends now. Just FYI.

MegaMillions

Mega Millions mania is here. The Mega Millions jackpot just keeps growing and growing: It's been weeks since anyone has been able to nab all five winning Mega Millions lottery numbers plus the all-important Mega Ball number.

That means the Mega Millions jackpot keeps rolling over. The Mega Millions jackpot now stands at a record $476 million -- nearly half a billion dollars -- for Friday night's drawing.

So buckle up, and prepare for three more days of Mega Millions mania.

The nationwide lottery has a wide reach, played across 42 states -- including California, plus Washington, D.C. and the U. S. Virgin Islands.

The $476 million jackpot easily smashes the earlier Mega Millions jackpot record, which occured in 2007 when the bucket of money hit $390 million. And it's likely that the jackpot for Friday's drawing will soar even higher as everyone runs to their local convenience store to plunk down their dollars.

The winning numbers for Tuesday night's drawing were 9-19-34-44-51 plus Mega Ball 24.There were still plenty of winners. Dozens of people walked away with prize money for having five of the six winning numbers.

If you win Mega Millions on Friday, you have two options.

The first is the gimme-all-my-money-now option. Mega Millions pays a one-time lump sum. The cash option for the Friday drawing as it stands at this moment is $341 million. The second option is to have your Mega Millions jackpot paid out over 26 years. For every $1 million in the jackpot, you will receive approximately $38,500 per year before taxes, according to the Mega Millions website.

Just so you know, your chances of hitting all six numbers in the Mega Millions lottery is 1 in 175,711,536.

No yeast Cinnamon Rolls

If cinnamon rolls were kinder to my thighs and my love handles, I’d surely bake them often and nibble little cinnamon roll nibbles until my heart was content.  Cinnamon rolls are a rather huge favorite of mine.  My grandma Billie used to make the best cinnamon rolls ever, and I certainly use her recipe whenever I’m up for making a yeast version of these things.  This non-yeast version is one that is plenty acceptable for a cinnamon roll, and it’s kind of a cool option for those who fear baking with yeast:  No Yeast Cinnamon Rolls

I baked mine in a muffin tin… for no particular reason except that I just wanted to keep them intact and not spreading out all over Kansas and Oklahoma.
These lovelies are made just the way a regular cinnamon roll is made.  The dough is rolled out into a roughly-shaped rectangle and topped with a brown sugar- cinnamon filling.  Lots of it.
The dough is very soft to work with.  Make sure your surface is well-floured and be gentle with it and all will be right with the world.
A peek at the roll.  Cut slices and try not to eat it as you go!  Seriously… it’s kind of hard not to taste it.
I dropped mine into greased muffin tins.  If you’d like them to turn out a little more decadent and dripping in buttery cinnamon-sugar goo, put a teaspoon or so of the cinnamon-sugar topping inside each muffin tin before you put these in there.  Then it will bake up all gooey on the bottom too.  I didn’t do that… and I loved ‘em just the way they were, but I like that gooey option idea too.
They bake up kind of muffin-like (but not muffiny in texture- they’re a bread texture instead).
Cream cheese frosting (or a glaze of some sort) is a must.  A MUST.
Get wild and crazy with your frosting designs, or just spread it on top of the cinnamon rolls like a normal human being would.
Here’s a peek at the inside too- you can see that the cinnamon layers are present throughout.  The best part about these cinnamon rolls is of course the “no yeast and no rising needed” aspect of them.  I sure love myself some home-baked yeasted cinnamon rolls, but these are nice to make when you don’t have the patience or time for rising.  Yeast rolls turn out a little more tender than these- I’d say these are more like a bread consistency.  Still good.  And remember that little tip I gave you about the extra cinnamon-sugar goo.  That could be all kinds of awesome.  These are best eaten the same day… nice and warm out of the oven with that cream cheese frosting on top.  We ate a few and then gifted some to our neighbors on a Sunday morning.  They were kinda happy :)

no yeast cinnamon rolls

Yield: 12 rolls
Prep Time: 30 min
Cook Time: 20 min

Ingredients:

Filling:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Dough:
2 cups bread or all-purpose flour, + more for rolling
2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup milk
1 large egg, beaten

Cream Cheese Frosting:
2 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2/3 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk or buttermilk

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a muffin tin with nonstick spray.
2. Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine the filling ingredients with a fork until a crumbly mixture is formed.
3. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Use clean hands (or a pastry blender) to work the butter into the dry ingredients. Add the milk and the egg and stir to combine.
4. Roll the dough out on a floured surface into roughly shaped large rectangle (about 1/4-inch thick). Sprinkle the filling evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border all the way around. Carefully roll up the rectangle (the dough will be soft). Use a sharp knife to cut 12 rolls. If you want smaller rolls, cut them a little smaller and you'll get 18. Carefully place the rolls in the prepared muffin tin.
5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. While the cinnamon rolls are baking, prepare the frosting: Combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk/buttermilk in a medium bowl. Use an electric mixer to combine. Add a little more milk if you wish to have a thinner frosting. Spread the frosting on top of warm rolls or drizzle on top. Serve warm.

New Challenger Video: Super 8 Film Of Space Shuttle Disaster Uncovered (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Challenger Nasa
Rare film of the 1986 Challenger explosion, taken by Jeffrey Ault of Orange City, Fla., has emerged. It is perhaps the only amateur recording of the event on film, and online it has been made available exclusively to The Huffington Post.
Jeffrey Ault built a 5-foot tall replica of anApollo-era Saturn V rocket for an elementary school science project. In high school, when NASA was conducting tests of the space shuttle program, he routinely wrote to the space administration requesting mission reports, collecting them in a file that he still has to this day.
So when he had the opportunity to attend the launch of the Challenger space shuttlewhile visiting Florida in January 1986, he was thrilled.
SCROLL DOWN FOR PHOTOS
“The excitement leading up to the launch was something I had never felt before,” Ault told The Huffington Post. “It was just great."
But that excitement turned to shock and sadness just 73 seconds after launch, when the space shuttle Challenger exploded, killing all seven astronauts on board and putting shuttle missions on hold for nearly three years.
Ault, who was 19 at the time and visiting from southern California, attended the launch with his parents, Bernice and Robert, and his friend Bill Graber. He filmed the event with his Chinon Super 8 film camera while Graber snapped photos.
Like many home movies, the film sat untouched in a box in Ault's house for decades. Until last week, it had been 26 years since he had seen the film, which The Huffington Post licensed from Ault.
VIDEO ABOVE
While two home videos (one Betamax and one VHS) of the Challenger tragedy have surfaced, Ault's film, shot from the Kennedy Space Center viewing site fewer than ten miles from the launch, offers a never before seen -- and significantly closer -- perspective.

The video begins with the countdown to launch, and as the Challenger lifts off, cheers and applause can be heard in the background. The camera follows the shuttle as it climbs, reaching a height of more than nine nautical miles. At 73 seconds, a fireball appears and a woman screams. It's not until 39 seconds later that Steve Nesbitt's chilling words can be heard from the Mission Control Center: "Flight control is here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction."
The film ends moments after Nesbitt announces that the vehicle has exploded.
Reflecting on that tragic day, Ault recalled a long, solemn and confusing trip back to the hotel.
"I was hoping to see an event that I would remember for the rest of my life," Ault wrote in an email. "I did. Just not the way I would have liked to."
"Unfortunately it became one of those long lasting memories for all the wrong reasons.”

Andrew Breitbart's death sparks wild conspiracy theories

Washington - Wild conspiracy theories claiming that President Obama killed conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart are making the rounds online. Breitbart was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center after he suddenly collapsed on a sidewalk near his home on Thursday.
According to Examiner.com, within 27 hours of Breitbart's death, a Google search of the phrase "Obama killed Breitbart" yields a bewildering array of creative efforts to explain how the president killed the conservative blogger.
Conspiracy theorists in the right wing are sure who is responsible for Breitbart's death, but there are conflicting theories about how Obama's "goons" killed him.
William Schmalfeldt writing on Examiner.com , reports that the conspiracy theories are fuelled by Breitbart's recent announcement at the recent CPAC rally that he had a college video of Obama that would "blow the lid off his presidency."
According to IB Times, Bretibart said a few weeks before he died: "I've got videos...from his college days, to show you why racial division and class warfare are central to what 'hope' and 'change' was sold in 2008...The rest of us slept while they plotted, and they plotted, and they plotted."
Paul Joseph Watson on Infowars.com, described Breitbart's death as "stunning coincidence." He said: "It appears Andrew Breitbart suffered his untimely death just hours before he was set to release damning video footage that could have sunk Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign."
Even though he later issued a statement that said: "We are not and have not said nor do we believe the death of Andrew Breitbart is the result of anything other than a believed heart attack," Conservative blogger Lawrence Sinclair referred to a conversation he had with Breitbart in Washington D.C., three weeks before his death, in which Brietbart said: "Wait till they see what happens March 1st." Sinclair also objected to "claims that Breitbart died of natural causes," saying that the claims "are the opinions of his attorney Joel Pollak and not the statements of any medical personnel from UCLA or the L.A. County Coroners office. L.A. Assistant Chief Medical Examiner Ed Winter says autopsy to be done tomorrow and no official cause of death has been determined."
Examiner quotes some tweets that reflect the pattern of rumor mongering: "@brandootr says, I don't believe for a minute Breitbart's death was natural. Remember, he said he had college video of Obama."
Another tweet said: "@mzagorski tweets, Call for a congressional hearing and investigation WHO KILLED BREITBART? Obama is a hit man with an army of parasites."
Examiner also quotes Chicago radio talk show host Mancow Muller's tweet: "@MancowMuller: He (Breitbart) told me RECENTLY he had big dirt on Obama. MANY believe it was murder!"
IB Times quotes a headline on Tea party Brief: "HIT JOB?" "Soros, Media Matters, 'Occupy', Obama, & ACORN can now breathe a sigh of relief..." Daily Paul has the title: "Andrew Breitbart Drops BOMB on Team Obama: 'I Got Video of Obama From College' - Then Dies of Natural Causes?"
IB Times, comments on the conspiracy theory scaremongering: "None of these sites feel it's necessary to offer proof of assassination beyond the fact that Breitbart is now dead and that he hated President Obama. That is the beauty of a conspiracy theory: it's so simple and effective, things like facts only serve to get in the way of the main message...[and] as each minute passes, the theories as to who ordered the 'hit job'...gets wilder and wilder."
And wilder and wilder they get indeed! IB Times reports some conspiracy theorists look to communist leader Joseph Stalin for a befitting comparison to Obama's "typical ordered hits."Examiner reports another refers to "an army of parasites" at obama's disposal to carry out his "hit orders," and called "for a congressional hearing and investigation WHO KILLED BREITBART?" Some others said Breitbart was possibly infected with cancer. A comment on IB Times compares Breitbart's death to that of Obama's grandmother in 2008: "Obama's grandmother died the day before the Presidential elections in 2008 while being visited by Obama. It was reported that she knew the truth about Obama's birth place. Now Andrew Breitbart is dead only weeks after he claimed to have tapes on Obama. Wake up America.... Evil is upon us."
The blog Weasel Zippers announced that the video Breitbart promised would be released in 7-10 days, but Schmalfeldt wonders why it should take so long to release a "raw video" that Breitbart had promised would end Obama's presidency. He wonders aloud: "If you had video that you knew would end the career of the most evil president America had ever known, would you hold on to it for a week to 10 days, or would you get Roger Ailes at Fox on the phone and say, 'We've got this tape that will blow the roof off of the White House?'"
There have been a rash of speculations too about the content of the tape Brietbart was about to release. Some have speculated the video would show obama smoking a "blunt," while others speak of "Obama's furry little Pakistani boyfriend," implying he had homosexual relationships. Another suggestion was that the tapes would show how Obama was radicalized by "people like Ayers/Dohrn. During his Harvard days." However, an Obama-killed-Brietbart conspiracy theorist, who would rather see Obama "with his Pakistani room wrestling-Greek style," did not think an "Obama-Ayers connection" video would be sufficiently damming to end Obama's presidency.
ABC News, in its report, counters the conspiracy theories making the rounds with the information that Briebart had a history of heart disease, but says the nature of the condition diagnosed last year is unknown. The website, however, quotes the advice of a cardiologist: "People who have had heart disease are at a higher risk of having further heart disease. It's tremendously important that after being diagnosed with heart disease, you have close follow-up with a cardiologist."
American Times also refers to reports about Brietbart's "erratic behaviour" and speculations that he had a "drinking problem."

Conservative activist Andrew Breitbart dead at 43

(Reuters) - Conservative activist Andrew Breitbart, an influential voice in Republican circles known for his online media attacks on liberals, died unexpectedly of natural causes in Los Angeles early on Thursday, his family said. He was 43.
Breitbart, the founder of a news website named after himself, was walking late on Wednesday near his Los Angeles home when he collapsed, said his father-in-law, actor Orson Bean.
"He collapsed on the sidewalk and the paramedics were there very quickly and they couldn't revive him," Bean told Reuters in a phone interview.
A friend of Breitbart told Reuters he had a history of heart problems and is believed to have suffered a heart attack.
The brash and outspoken blogger and commentator, who published politically inspired photos and undercover videos and aimed much of his ire at Hollywood liberals, was at the center of several news websites including www.Breitbart.tv, www.breitbart.com and www.biggovernment.com.
Breitbart relished the role he cast for himself as an embattled conservative on the margins of the mainstream media he called "the Complex." Even so, he gained fans as a frequent guest on television news shows.
His work helped generate a number of prominent news stories. Those included undercover videos posted on his website about ACORN, a grass-roots group that offered housing assistance and other aid to the poor, and his role in bringing to national attention a sexually suggestive photo Democratic U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner of New York posted through his Twitter page.
That scandal eventually led to Weiner's resignation last year.
BROUGHT DOWN ACORN
In targeting ACORN, or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, Breitbart posted videos in 2009 by conservative activists who secretly taped employees of the group giving tax advice to a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute.
The controversy led Congress to deny federal housing funds to ACORN, which disbanded in 2010.
Bertha Lewis, the former head of ACORN, told Reuters she was sad to hear about Breitbart's death. But she said the videos Breitbart posted about ACORN, which helped launch his website in 2009, were selectively edited.
"He really did a lot of damage to a 40-year-old organization that helped millions of low and moderate income folks," Lewis said.
Breitbart faced widespread criticism when in 2010 his website posted a heavily edited version of a speech by U.S. Department of Agriculture official Shirley Sherrod that led to her forced resignation.
Sherrod, who is black, said her bosses at USDA pushed her to resign after Breitbart posted portions of a video in which she seemed to say she had discriminated against a white farmer. But in the full video of the speech that Sherrod gave, she had in fact said race should not matter.
Breitbart mentioned the Sherrod controversy last night in one of his last Twitter messages, in response to a back-and-forth discussion with Web users in which one person suggested he should apologize to Sherrod. "Apologize for WHAT?" Breitbart wrote back.
Breitbart cut his teeth in the freewheeling world of online media as an editor of the Drudge Report, working in Los Angeles. He also worked with liberal blogger Arianna Huffington, playing an early role in the creation of the Huffington Post, which was founded in 2005.
Matt Drudge, founder of the Drudge Report, said in a message on his website on Thursday that he remembered Breitbart as "a constant source of energy, passion and commitment."
"I still see him in my mind's eye in Venice Beach (in Los Angeles), the sunny day I met him. He was in his mid 20s. It was all there. He had a wonderful, loving family and we all feel great sadness for them today," Drudge wrote.
Mickey Kaus, a liberal writer who blogs at website The Daily Caller, said Breitbart and Huffington managed to collaborate despite their political differences.
"Arianna is a tolerant person and he had a personal bond with her so he could forge an alliance with her, he could forge an alliance with me because I'm a Democrat who likes to trash Democrats," Kaus said.
"He was more against the cultural left than against the policy left," Kaus added.
Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney said on his Twitter page that he and his wife were "deeply saddened" by Breitbart's death, calling him a "brilliant entrepreneur, fearless conservative, loving husband and father."
Breitbart was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. on Thursday, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Department of Coroner. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Friday.
Breitbart was memorialized in a page at Breitbart.tv.
"We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love," the memorial page said.
The message said Breitbart "passed away unexpectedly from natural causes."
It was unclear what would become of the editorial team Breitbart created and ran from his headquarters in Los Angeles.
"He was such a larger-than-life person with so much energy and spirit and could do things 24 hours a day, I just don't see how you can replace him," Kaus said.
Breitbart is survived by his wife, Susannah, and their four children.
