'Stronger'
A slinky slice of electropop penned and produced by Swedish great (and frequent Britney collaborator) Max Martin, 'Stronger' sees Britney taking control over her life and experiences, proudly proclaiming “I'm not your property as from today.” Taken from her sophomore release, 'Oops! I Did It Again,' this Britney Spears song has a great message of self-empowerment and the melody is killer, but it's the video that really gets us: Her chair-dancing is simply peerless.
'Criminal'
Britney has always been a sonic innovator, and 'Criminal,' taken from her current album, 'Femme Fatale,' is one of the most weirdly delicious pop singles in recent memory: A folksy flute backs an eerie chorus over the dark and dishy declaration “Mama, I'm in love with a criminal.” If this is the direction Britney's music is headed, we're thrilled to be along for the ride.
'Anticipating'
'Anticipating' is one of the lesser-known Britney Spears songs, but it's a total jam — sparkly and funky and celebratory. “Gotta really let me know if you want me / You gotta turn me on and make me feel sexy,” Britney coos on the bridge. The single's vinyl release features gorgeous, swooning dance remixes courtesy of French disco master Alan Braxe — a must-have for any Britney collector.

Who doesn't love 'I'm a Slave 4 U'? The Neptunes-produced banger is a sultry, sleazy ode to grinding on the dancefloor that put her on the map as one of the most experimental voices in pop. And the video? Sweat has surely never looked so unapologetically sexy.

'Till the World Ends' takes Britney's common message of dancin' and partyin' and takes it to apocalyptic proportions, y'all! Written by Kesha and produced by Dr. Luke, this Britney Spears song was our favorite track in 2011 — and with good reason. It's anthemic, spaced-out, and packed with what feels like a hundred choruses, marking yet another spectacularly cutting-edge Britney single.

It's the first, the original, and it remains one of her very best. Her Max Martin debut '…Baby One More Time' put Britney on the map as a pop star not to be trifled with, and ushered in a new era of millennial teen pop greatness. A pop juggernaut that reached No. 1 in every country where it charted (!!!), this Britney Spears song is as good as bubblegum pop has ever been.
'Toxic'
'Toxic' is just so impossibly cool, which makes it no surprise than Britney herself calls it her favorite song from her entire career. Critically hailed, frequently covered, and appealingly shrill and dissonant, 'Toxic' is a mini-masterpiece of electropop ambition that encapsulates everything we love about Britney: Fearless, ferocious, and endlessly addictive.
